My abstract work is an emotional response to how something makes me feel — from the traumatic to the trivial, the exotic or the ordinary; a language that resonates from deep within, an energy of sorts — I tend to think of it as Soul.
Making marks in different mediums, with no concept of the finished piece is not only very liberating and cathartic but it`s also a wonderful way to learn techniques, hone my skills and encourage personal growth.
Abstracts are my favourite way to practice discernment in my art with deliberate intention, to celebrate when it feels right and reassess when it goes astray.

Being an artist; a legitimate excuse for me to indulge in a world of pure imagination and be anything I want — for a short while at least! It`s exciting to bounce enthusiastically between realties; one day I am an entomologist, another an astronaut, an engineer or a dancer.
Incorporating an element of fun into my art, is the perfect way to keep my inner child nourished and happy.
These, mostly small intuitive original artworks are what I create in between larger bodies of slower paced work. Inbetweeners are grounded in the joy of play, experimentation and my curious nature of wanting to know how mediums and substrates naturally behave when combined in different or compromising ways.
Inbetweeners are a great way for me to try out new techniques and ideas without expectation or the preciousness of resolution.
They are, in a sense, my ‘souls snack food’
